The results are in....

Congratulations to our three winners...Mark Carr, Rob Earle and Amy Talbot!

This years prestigious Employee Of The Year award was once again split into three categories - Build, Fit-Out and Office. Nicest man alive, Mark Carr, took home the Fit-Out team award. Bespoke old timer, Rob Earle, romped home taking the crown on the Build team. And last but not least, our wonderful Management Accountant, Amy Talbot, completed the ceremony, taking home the Office team title!

As well as receiving the precious, money-can't-buy, engraved tankard, the trio will also enjoy a lavish evening at Old Trafford in the Bespoke corporate box!

A Cause Worth Fighting For

Forget Conor McGregor & Floyd Mayweather...our very own Craig Blackhurst is stepping back in the ring this November.

Craig is helping raise money for Cancer Research UK with a one-off White Collar Boxing event. A fighter in his younger days, Craig is dusting off his gloves and head gear at the ripe old age of 43.

Set to take place in Shrewsbury (venue still to be confirmed), the event will be held on the 25th November, stay tuned for more details when we get them.

Bespoke Make a Big Splash with Coventry Water Polo

Bespoke Construction are pleased to announce their new affiliation with Coventry Water Polo.

Sponsorship and funding for clubs such as Coventry Water Polo is vital for the growth and development of the sport, which continues to grow in popularity in the UK. We are proud to become new sponsors of this well established sports community. Bespoke Project Manager, Mike Aish is head of Club Development and his enthusiasm and commitment to both the sport and hometown club, has helped drive the sports club forward over the past eighteen months. Membership numbers have grown and there's even been a TV appearance on the popular BBC programme 'Eat Well For Less'.

Coventry Waterpolo has been a well-established club in the city for many years. Coventry currently have both Men’s and Women’s teams competing in the top tiers of Midland Leagues. The Women also compete at the country’s highest level – The National League aka. The British Championships. They are currently ranked within the top 3. Throughout the years, the club has produced many international players, competing not only for the home nations, but representing countries from around the globe. They currently have several players earning regular caps for their country. These range from junior level all the way through to masters.

Confident swimmers between the ages 11 -16 are invited to join the upcoming Waterpolo workshops where current players will introduce them to this enjoyable, physical and rewarding sport.

Rockfon And Rolling At Leigh Road, Slough

We are pleased to announce that our Project Manager, Mark Simmonds is now trained and qualified in the installation of Rockfon Mono Acoustic ceiling systems.

Mark and two members of our select subcontractor team, Paul Phasey and Mick Whild, attended a week's course in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The trio passed with flying colours, being awarded the best installation of the course! They will now apply their new skill set to fit-out project at Leigh Road, Slough ,with the unique installation process of the ceiling system starting in April 2016.

Rockfon Mono Acoustic is an innovative, seamless and aesthetically pleasing system that absorbs sound, reduces echoes and significantly decreases reverberation, as well providing design flexibility.

Once the project is fully completed, this 117,400 sq ft distribution centre will be occupied by wholesale food supplier, Bidvest 3663.

Congratulations Are In Order To Another Bennett....Natalie Is Promoted To Operations Director

It gives us great pleasure to announce that our beloved Natalie Bennett has received a thoroughly deserved, long overdue promotion to the post of Operations Director.

Nat is considerably Bespoke's longest serving (and suffering some may say!) member of staff and has been a leading member of a successful team ever since her arrival many moons ago. Until now, she has fulfilled the role of Company Secretary and on many occasion, has been the glue that has held our company together. Even with no experience within the Construction Industry prior to her arrival, nothing has fazed her and she has continually launched herself in to the unknown. Her ability to learn along the way, as well as her unrivalled drive and commitment, has made her the fountain of knowledge that she is today.

Her new role, one of fundamental importance, will see her put her hand to even more new and challenging scenarios in just about every aspect of our business. As Operations Director, she will also be managing  the day to day activities and needs of our ever evolving business.

Bespoke Employee Of The Year 2015 Announced!

Drum roll please.....we can officially announce that the winner of the prestigious Employee Of The Year for 2015 is our Contracts Manager, Fred Penn.

Fred was joined on the podium by Jonathan Diss & Jo Richards who were a close second and third on the night. But it was Fred who got his nose in front at the final hurdle to take home the treasured tankard!

Lights, Camera, Jackson! - Paul Promoted To Director

We would like to extend hearty congratulations to our very own Paul Jackson, who has recently been promoted to Projects Director.

Paul has been with us for longer than we can remember and has been a fundamental member of the team for many, many years. From humble beginnings where he initially worked on the tools, he then soared through the ranks here at Bespoke from Project Manager to Senior Contracts Manager, playing a vital part in our growth as a company.

With his new appointment as Projects Director, Paul is now responsible for the continuation and further development of our Interiors Division.

Bespoke would like to thank Paul for all his hard work, dedication and commitment to date and wish him every success in his new role.

Play Time For Bespoke Tenant, Dave Edwards...

Congratulations to our tenant, Dave Edwards, who has officially opened his children's play barn, 'Little Rascals'.

The Wolves midfielder - together with business partner ,Ben Wootton - have leased the unit from Bespoke's sister company, Maverick4 Properties. Situated at 292 Monkmoor Road in Shrewsbury, this soft play centre is aimed at babies and children up to the age of 12.

As you can see from these fantastic photos, Dave and Ben have transformed this space in to something truly special.

16-17 Avenue Elmers - All Things Considered...

Bespoke are pleased to announce that a 2nd visit by inspectors to our Avenue Elmers project has seen us earn a 'Performance Beyond Compliance' certificate, awarded to us by the Considerate Constructors scheme.

Well done to Kevin Newman and Laura Penn who have both worked hard to improve on June's 'Very Good' score report. Both scores far exceed our contractual obligation but we are pleased to have strengthened our overall performance on site, and are delighted to receive such recognition for our continued high standards of work.

Pulses Racing As Bespoke Get In The HIT Zone

Bespoke would to wish their new tenant 'The HIT Zone ' every success in their new venture at Merlin House.

The fitness group, who recently moved in to our Halesfield property, are already making waves in the Telford fitness scene with their unique and effective training methods. The PT led workout mixes high intensity group sessions, alongside the use of a revolutionary low impact machine.

Fred Penn Making His Mark

We would like to extend congratulations to our very own Fred Penn, who has been promoted to Contracts Manager.

Fred has been a vital member of the team since his arrival in 2014 and has truly stamped his authority on every project he's been involved in. Originally joining us in the role of Senior Project Manager, his commitment and dedication to Bespoke has been rewarded with this well-deserved promotion.

Fred will initially be responsible for all Build team production and is currently designated to oversee works at both Richmond Police Station and 16-17 Avenue Elmers.

Jo Richards, 10 Years of service with a smile!!!

Celebrations are in order yet again………… as today, we celebrate Jo Richards 10 year work anniversary.

 

Jo joined the company in 2005 and she is the core of what’s internally known as ‘The Hub’. For those who don’t know, this is where all the magic happens!! Any business requirement, no matter how small, this is the person who puts it in to action and gets the job done.

 

Like Mark & Gary Jackson who celebrated their anniversary in August (read story here) we’ve had lots of laughs and great memories - too many to share. So Jo we just want to say a big ‘THANK YOU’ for all your hard work and commitment over the past decade. Wolves Midfielder Signs New Deal With Bespoke...

....well, kind of!

Maverick4 Properties, our sister company, is to play a key role in Wolves midfielder, Dave Edwards and co-owner, Ben Wootton's new business venture in Shrewsbury. The Wales international and his business partner will be leasing a unit on Maverick4 Business Park, situated at 292 Monkmoor Road. Planning permission has been granted to develop the unit into a children's play barn, which will be called Little Rascals. The soft play centre aimed at babies and children up to the age of 12 will include a car track area, a football pitch and a sensory room for children with special needs.

10 Year Anniversary Special - A Decade Of Jackson

Celebrations are in order...as this week marks Gary Jackson and Mark Jackson's 10th year work anniversary.

The dynamic duo joined the company back in 2005 and have played a pivotal role in the fit-out divisions growth and development over the past decade. During this time we have had lots of laughs, stories and great memories, some we can't break into print over but I'm sure they will be happy to provide you with the details!!

Avenue Elmers - Constructing With Care

A big well done to Martyn Collier and Laura Penn at our Avenue Elmers project where they have been commended with a 'Very Positive' report score, awarded by the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The score received far exceeds our contractual obligation.

The scheme is designed to give recognition to construction companies who present a positive image of themselves in critical areas including competent management, efficiency, awareness of the environment and overall neighbourliness. This is all in pursuit of improving the construction industry's image amongst the general public and local neighbourhoods in which we operate.

Tour De Force Team Reach Charity Ride Finishing Line

Bespoke would like to congratulate Project Manager, Martyn Collier on the completion of his 170 mile charity bike ride.

Martyn and a team of 7 fellow cyclists accomplished the challenge from Walsall, to Brean in Somerset; via Wales in just 2 and a half days.


Driven by over £4000 in donations, the small peloton of cyclists endured typical British weather conditions throughout the entire task.

This is the second year running that Martyn has taken part in this sponsored, self-organised cycling event. Last year, in the company of his close friend, Darren, the pair raised over £3000 for St Giles Hospice in Walsall.

A big well done to Martyn and all of the team who took part on this inspiring journey. Same again next year!

Dynamic Duo Ready To Ride For Charity

Last year, Bespoke Project Manager, Martyn Collier, and his close friend Darren, took part in an audacious cycling trip in the name of charity. Setting off from Bloxwich in Walsall, the pair hit the road, and 136 miles later, reached their destination of Brean in Somerset.

After setting an initial fund raising target of £500, the two were overwhelmed to discover that, through the support of family and friends, they had raised over £3000. The proceeds were donated to St Giles Hospice in Walsall, all in memory of Darren's mom who had recently passed away through cancer.

Due to last years fantastic outcome, Martyn and Darren have decided to do it all again. On the 28th of May, in the company of an extra 6 cyclists, the pair will head off again from Bloxwich to Somerset, via Wales, on an enterprising 170 mile trip.

They have chosen two different charities to support this year - Helping Jack and Walsall Breast Cancer support group. If you would like to sponsor the pair and thereby support these two worthy causes, please click on the links below to donate!
