Bespoke is delighted to announce their newly awarded project for client/developer Sunley in Richmond-Upon-Thames.
Works at this exclusive development in Surrey will see us transform this building of townscape merit, a former Police Station, into 27 high end luxury apartments over an 80 week period. This unique venture will involve supporting the existing façade of this grand Edwardian building, while the demolition of the rear of the development will make way for the creation of a new basement and the construction of both 1 & 2 bedroom apartments, including 8 dwellings built for a local housing association. Alongside this unique collection of residential dwellings, Bespoke's £5m contract also involves the construction of 5000 sq ft over two storeys of A1 retail floor space.
Originally constructed in 1922, this historic building lies within central Richmond's conservation area and has been unoccupied after the local police force changed residency in September 2013. In the interest of promoting sustainable forms of development, Bespoke will be carrying out works that ensure all residential accommodation is built in accordance with level 4 for the code for sustainable homes and that the retail space is constructed to a BREEAM 'Very Good' rating. PV (Photovoltiac) panels will be installed on the roof, providing a clean source of renewable energy while helping to reduce the overall carbon footprint of this prestigious development. The sites green credentials are further enhanced as the scheme has been designed as a car free development due to the site location and proximity to public transport.
Following on from previous multi million pound contracts in both Twickenham and Surbiton, this will be Bespoke's third project for Sunley.
